Scheduled for delivery in 14 months, the rig, which is contracted to COIC by Mexico’s state-owned Pemex for operation in Mexico Gulf, will have living quarters to accommodate 100 people.
The 3000-HP rig, to be named Zhongye 1, is designed to drill to a well depth of 9000 metres.
To be classed by ABS, the rig will also be capable of performing well completion, workover, and well logging.
