Amec Foster Wheeler has landed a prized contract related to a proposed liquefied natural gas plant in East Timor.

The contractor giant has beaten off competition from WorleyParsons to nab the pre-front-end engineering & design contract for the envisaged Beaco LNG facility.

Amec Foster Wheeler put the value of the pre-FEED deal at $3.8 million, saying the scope includes "concept selection studies, development of technical design, development of procurement and construction strategies, project implementation plans, capital cost estimate and schedule for the overall project".
