Kiewit Offshore Services in Ingleside, Texas, has won the job, according to Upstream sources.
Chevron has not elaborated on the number of tendons that would be rebuilt, but at least nine of the 16 were damaged when buoyancy modules detached in strong currents last June leaving the mooring lines to fall to the ocean floor.
The operator's upstream head Jay Johnson told investors earlier this month that it was moving ahead with rebuilding the tendons and buoyancy modules following an internal investigation, which had "validated" the design of the TLP and the mooring system.
