US supermajor ConocoPhillips has decided to quit two blocksin Peru’s Maranon Basin where conservation areas were declared over part of theacreage after the licences were awarded.
The move comes just weeks after Canada’s Talisman Energysaid it would quit the same blocks and two others in a move to exitPeru altogether, while insisting environmental and community concerns were not behind the decision.
