Maersk said the XLE-3 jack-up would be mobilised to the Norwegian North Sea in late February to carry out a firm four-year contract, with two one-year extension options, for Norwegian giant Statoil on the Gina Krog field.
The rig is third of four XL Enhanced jack-ups Maersk ordered for delivery between 2014 and 2016, representing a total investment of $2.6 billion.
