The Noble David Tinsley experienced “severe damage to the legs and the rig” according to a document Noble filed with the US Securities & Exchange Commission.
The company said it did not know the full extent of the damage.
Noble is trying to remove the rig, which is stable, it said in the filing.
A spokesman for Noble in Houston told UpstreamOnline an “engineering team” is developing a plan to extricate the jack-up.
