The company responded to a press release issued by its partner, Afren, early last week which contained a number of results from an “independent review by Wilkie Farr & Gallagher (WFG) into certain transactions undertaken by Afren”.
Oriental executive chairman Muhammadu Indimi said the company had to set the record straight on its dealings with Afren in Nigeria .
“Afren's press release, including their summary of WFG's findings, was little more than a collection of suppositions, unsupported innuendoes and a series of false and defamatory statements,” he said.
