Malaysia’s national oil company Petronas has started commercial operations at its ninth train at the liquefied natural gas complex in Bintulu, Sarawak, project partner JX Nippon Oil & Energy said on Monday.

JX said operations at the train, which will have a production capacity of 3.6 million tonnes of LNG per year, officially started on 1 January.

“With the addition of new the state-of-the-art liquefaction plant, the Petronas  LNG Complex now has the capacity to produce approximately 30 million tonnes per annum,” JX said.
