Malaysian state-run company Petronas has signed a liquefied natural gas supply agreement with Japan's Hokkaido Electric Power Company.

Under the 10-year agreement, which Petronas revealed on Thursday was signed last week, Hokkaido Electric will be supplied up to 130,000 metric tonnes of LNG per year from Petronas subsidiary Malaysia LNG (MLNG).

MLNG operates the Petronas LNG complex in Bintulu, Sarawak which has a combined annual production capacity of about 30 million tonnes.
