The company’s senior vice president of operations Amin al-Nasser was appointed its new chief executive on Friday, according to its Twitter account, replacing Khalid al-Falih who was named health minister by King Salman on Wednesday, as well as chairman of the state oil giant.

There were no indications that the restructuring, which Al Arabiya reported on Friday citing sources, will lead to fundamental changes in how the world's top crude exporter decides its energy policy.
