The project will inject up to 165,000 barrels of treated seawater per day into three wells on the Ursa field. The project aims to boost recovery from the Miocene-age Ursa-Princess reservoir by 30,000 barrels and to enahnce the life of the fields by 10 years.
Shell said a 427-tonne filtration module and 675-tonne water injection module built at J Ray McDermott’s yard at Amelia, Louisiana, was floated out to the Mississippi Canyon-area fields, about 100 miles (160 kilometres) offshore in the Mississippi Canyon area
The units were installed on the Ursa TLP in November, the company said in a statement today.
