The operator has tapped J Ray McDermott to remove and replace the top chain portion of each of the spar's six mooring lines.
Each line in Neptune's active mooring system is made up of a chain-wire-chain configuration. The top 1050-foot section that runs through the fairleads, up through the chain jack and down to the chain locker is to be replaced.
