Sources, who declined to name the company ordering the unit, said the deal signed last weekend means the yard, in Dalian city in northern China, must complete the rig in 29 months.

Upstream earlier reported that DSIC Offshore and CIMC Raffles were in talks with Brazil’s Etesco for the engineering, procurement and construction contract to build the unit.
