“The process has started and we expect to complete it this year,” KOC chairman and managing director Sami al-Rushaid said.
“It’s a lengthy process... the actual clean up will take years.”
The KOC boss was speaking as the state company was preparing to receive, by 28 June, bids for three tender packages for soil remediation work at three separate oil sites. The deadline was extended from 16 June.
