The company has earmarked the bulk of its projected $37 million budget for 2002 exploration and development work for Sudan, where it made a significant discovery known as Thar Jath this year.
Lundin's board has approved a total budget of $31.5 million for exploration and appraisal activities in Sudan and Iran.
Engineering contractor Petrofac is already carrying out front-end engineering and design work on the Sudan block.
