MALAWI’S government may finalise within weeks a long-running review of exploration licences held in the country by junior players Pacific Oil and RakGas.
A source suggested a decision could come this month, although it may slip into the first quarter of next year.
However, a senior government minister refused to be drawn on a specific date.
Joseph Mwanamvekha, Malawi’s Minister of Industry & Trade, would only say the government aims to complete the review “as soon as possible”.
