Mubadala Petroleum has taken a decisive step forward in the development of its shallow-water Pegaga gas resource off Malaysia by awarding a front-end engineering and design contract.
The Abu Dhabi-headquartered operator has selected Aker Solutions’ Malaysian subsidiary for the FEED work ahead of several other prominent contractors including RNZ-Petrofac, MMC Oil & Gas Engineering and Technip.
The FEED work is expected to last nine months and will pave the way for an invitation to tender in the third quarter next year for an engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract, said sources.
